Story of My Life!

 A Short Memoir Excerpt

Happy New Year! What are some of your best memories of 2022? (Or from childhood? Heh, since we're going down memory lane, might as well really go down it! As I do here in my #FreeFictionFriday post on Substack #memoir #autobiography

Me in 1972, I think. Gotta love those shorts!

Scanning Old Pictures

Starting to scan old photos. It's a daunting task because we have so many! You do, too, probably. Photos from the 1990s when the kids were young. Pictures from vacations. Dance recitals. Just because.

Then college pics from the 80s. You know what I'm talking about. Memories you don't want to let go of. Or at least I don't. I'm pretty sentimental that way. Objects have meaning for me - and a physical photograph have almost as much meaning as the memory itself

So reluctantly I'm scanning some old photos. Have to. Can't take them with us to Puerto Rico. Won't get through them all, though. So I think we'll pack up our children's memory albums as is and drop them at relatives to store while we're on our ten year vacation. (grinning)

In the meantime, I'm having fun walking down memory lane. Here are a few from when I swam at Wheaton College in the mid-80s. Fun times!
