4th of July Tag Party

Considering this is our nation's birthday, let's celebrate by participating in a birthday meme. Consider yourself tagged!

Instructions:
1. Go to Wikipedia.
2. In the search box, type your birth month and day (but not year).
3. List three important events that happened on your birthday.
4. List two interesting birthdays and one interesting death.
5. List one holiday or observance (if none, make one up).

So, my birthday is December 26 . . .

Three Events:
1) Battle of Trenton, 1776
2) Supreme Soviet formally dissolves the USSR, 1991
3) 200,000 Killed by Indian Ocean Tsunami, 2004

Two Births:
1) Mao Zedong (I did not know this and am not sure I like it.)
2) Mary Somerville ("Queen of Nineteenth Century Science")

One Death:
1) Harry S Truman (Note his middle name is S; it's not an initial.)

And a Holiday:
Boxing Day, of course (and it doesn't refer to getting rid of your empty boxes after Christmas), and the 1st Day of Christmas.

  1. Hey Lyn,

Since you like music, you might want to check out my post today. I went to see Toto last night. They were great! I posted a couple of videos I shot too. The picture is lousy, but the sound is excellent.

    Cheers,
    Carol

Keep it clean and positive. (And sorry about the word verification, but the spmb*ts are out in full force!)
