Writing Assignment: An Observation

At Vacation Bible School this past week (where I was the lead teacher), we were learning about what’s real and what’s fake. Thumbs up for real. Thumbs down for fake. Horses? Real! Thumbs up! Yeah! Smiles all around. Unicorns? Fake! Thumbs down. Yes, thumbs down. Less smiles. Rabbits? Real! Okay, thumbs up! Good, more smiles. Easter Bunny? (Thumbs sideways.) You know, a big rabbit that lays eggs? Fake! No, really. Thumbs down…put your thumbs down. Fewer smiles, many frowns. Some thumbs down. Most hands not participating. I quickly made a decision to forego using Santa as my next example.
