Commentary, Inspiration, and Reflections

Always trying to clean up my blog. Never ending story! I really want it to be writer- and reader-friendly. I want the folks who drop by to get a feel for me and sample a taste of my writing - mostly fiction with a dash of the fantastic! ;-)

But if you dig very far into my past blog posts, you'll find that this blog is really a mish-mash of all sorts of ramblings. Some announcements, some book reviews, some cultural commentary, some bible studies, some humor. I don't think I have too much of a focus going on here.

That's cool, though. I like reading blogs that are varied in their approach. And you do get a feel for who I am and can sample some of my writing! Which is great. But one thing that I've been thinking about lately has caused me to re-evaluate this random throw-it-all-out-there approach.

As a writer, I don't want to automatically turn potential readers off by posting a bunch of my personal opinions, political positions, religious commentary, social critique, et cetera, right on the front page. Of course, I can't hide who I am (wouldn't want to), but I don't have to be all in your face about it either, lol.

I know it turns me off when I read something by a favorite author who bashes something I hold dear. Makes me kinda not want to read that person again. I'm sure you've felt similarly as well, at least at times.

So, to make this blog more reader/writer focused, I'm moving my commentary, reflections, a lot of my bible studies and inspirational writing to my other blog called Fwd: Thoughts. Click the title to get there if you want to read more from "that side of my brain."

No, I'm not hiding the fact that I'm a Christian (strike one!). Nor am I trying to pretend like I'm not conservative (strike two!). I'm just going to let people find that out on their own after they get to know me a bit first. After all, I think I'm a pretty neat white guy (strike three!). ;-)

Anyway, hope you enjoy some of the changes coming up. And as always, thanks for reading! - Lyn
