A Nice Review
A number of years back I started putting my short stories into short collections and publishing them online for 99 cents. A whole bunch are mentioned here on this tab of my blog.
One of my favorite collections is Last Gasp - Four Cozy Thrillers. This is a real quick fun read, the purpose is to distarct one during a lunch break, say.

Well, mission accomplished!
A very popular reviewer on Amazon and Goodreads came across my bit of whimsy and wrote the following review (some sample excerpts from his longer review below)...
I ran across this by happenstance and decided to take a chance on it, desiring something brief and gossamer to entertain between bigger reads. These stories were short, amusing and engaging. If the purpose was to paint a smile on readers’ faces in a matter of minutes without, as Poirot would say, taxing the little gray cells, this collection of four miniature stories succeeds....
Great for a quick smile before bed, or perhaps a welcome diversion during a lunch break at work. This obviously isn’t meant to be more than that, and to its credit doesn’t try to be. Leaning heavily toward the cozy end of the spectrum, with the thrills more amusing than fear-inducing — as they are intended to be — there is an element of fun here. If that’s what you’re looking for you’ll probably enjoy this as I did.
I'm very touched and appreciative. Just thought I'd share a little bit of good news with you today. If you happen to come across any of my books or collections and enjoy them, let me know! Thanks.

Almost Fully Funded!
My magical cat novella, Cat Potion No. 9 - a Mister the Magical Cat story, is halfway written. And the series itself is off to a great start. Thanks to you who have shown interest in and backed my first campaign on Kicstarter. As of this morning, it's 80% funded! Thank you so much!
If you want to know more, visit my Kickstarter page. But for now, here's a sneak peek at the opening scene. Just me writing some fun and whimsy. If a magical cat cozy is your thing, I think you'll enjoy this new series.
I guess click to enlarge. ;-)Here's the cover reveal. Still plenty of time to get rewards for helping bring this story and series to life!
Thanks for reading! - Lyn

My WIP - Ma Tutt's Secret Spice (coming April, 2018)
This is book two of a curious cozy featuring a magical cat named Mack and the owner of a donut hut named Ma Tutt. Each week I'll simply post the next 8 to 10 sentences of my novel, so obviously not all of these will be complete scenes. Still, should be fun. To catch up, click #WIPSnippet.
Ma Tutt looked at the cute little kitty door next to the back entrance and considered herself fortunate that Mack hadn’t brought back any of his 'prizes' into the kitchen. Oh, the local food and health inspector would have a fit if he were to visit on the day Mack left such an offering!
She peeled her eyes off her feline friend and grabbed a favorite apron, one with a colorful splay of California poppies. She donned a hairnet and tucked away a few graying strands of hair. Ready at last, she began her opening routine with a spry step that belied her sixty-year old legs.
“I have a feeling it’s going to be a busy morning, Martía, so if you’ll man the oven and deep fat fryer, I’ll make sure the display case out front is fully stocked.” The Gypsy woman nodded and, with another yawn, got to work.
This being a Friday and the start to a busy Fourth of July holiday weekend in the middle of tourist season, Dolly expected quite a crowd. But then, so far this summer, most weekends had boasted a whirlwind of activity.
After just two months of business, the Hut was already the community’s hotspot and a favorite stop for vacationers on their way to a mountain lake getaway; it was not unusual to see a line forming at the front door by the time Dolly hit the lights and turned the Closed sign to Open.
Dolly Tutt has just opened her own bakery in the small mountain community of Sugar Pine Station. But the Creamy Pie franchise across the street is giving her fits. Her business is dying. She needs a miracle or she'll be forced to close.
Fortunately, Mack, a mysterious tabby that came with the doughnut shop, lends a paw by pointing Dolly to a magical ingredient that definitely puts the spice back in her life and rejuvenates the Donut Hut. Unfortunately, it also unleashes a series of catastrophes that may end up destroying her business once and for all.

Mack greeted the two women with a surly mrrow as they entered the kitchen and hit the lights. Ma tore the daily page off the wall-mounted calendar and tossed Thursday, July 3rd, in the trash as the tabby impatiently nudged a few legs.
“Evidently, he doesn’t like the later start time,” Martía said. She found his plastic bin of food, the cat griping all the while. “It’s too early for breakfast, Mack!” she scolded, but acquiesced to his demands and filled his bowl with kibble. The throaty complaints turned to satisfied purrs as he dug in.
“No such thing as too early for breakfast,” Dolly said, shaking her head, “and after all the time you’ve spent with him, you should know that by now.”
“Ah, but we didn’t spoil him as you have done...cat food purchased from a store? Oosh, this is why he has claws, for there is a mountainside to explore behind the Hut and plenty of mice for him to find.”
Ma shivered at the thought and said, “As long as he never shows me his prize, I’ll just pretend he doesn’t hunt.”

Weekend Writing Warriors Dec 23-24
This is my second entry (first entry here) with #wewriwa and my genre is magical cozy mystery. My WIP excerpt is from book two of a series featuring Mack the Magical Cat, titled, Ma Tutt's Secret Spice. Each week I'll simply post the next 8 to 10 sentences, so obviously not all of these will be complete scenes. Still, should be fun. For all snippets, click #WIPSnippet.
Including the presence of Mack, a very intriguing feline in his own right.
The gray mackerel had come with the Hut when Dolly purchased the building six months before. Due to the pronounced M on the tabby’s forehead, Dolly christened him Mack. He was called Tozier, however, in a previous life when he belonged to the Coopers—as much as a cat can belong to anyone. And he, too, was quite advanced in years, having just celebrated his sixtieth birthday. But these tales have already been told.
Dolly, for the most part, simply accepted the mystery of it all.
